The 5 Deadly Senses at The Box

The 5 Deadly Senses is the newest series from Jophen Stein. Using both humor and poignant intimacy, Stein narrates a story of exploration and progress through work inspired by Hollywood musicals and motifs reminiscent of early Romantic Comedies.



This collection of narrative paintings will open at the Costa Mesa gallery on Saturday, October 17, 2009, from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM. The exhibition will run through December 5, 2009.

Janice Lowry Gothold - RIP

Gustavo Arellano has a nice post remembering Janice Lowry Gothold at the OC Weekly. Janice was an exceptional artist who was based in Santa Ana and will be missed. Rumor has it that there is a book project detailing Janice's work in development at Grand Central Press. Stay tuned.

Hoff Foundation Announces 3rd Quarter Awards

October 6th, 2009: 

The Hoff Foundation announced today that it will award quarterly grants totaling $1,500 to the following Artists based in Orange County and Long Beach.

 

Gordon Winiemko & Jeff Foye: $500 for exhibition support.

Jennifer Celio: $500 for material support.

Andre Woodward: $500 for exhibition support.

The Hoff Foundation is a private arts foundation formed in 2008 with a commitment to and passion for the arts. Since its inception The Hoff Foundation has distributed $16,500 to various individual artists and arts organizations.
