Nice post. I'd like to add that if you are just starting out, joining some of the online art galleries is a good investment as well...ie yessy.com, boundlessgallery.com and others. I started out only selling in those types of places with prices from $20.00 up to several thousand and have found you almost always get a return on your investment. I still sell my clearance items, prints and attempt to sell high-end originals on these sites (last year I contacted several higher end galleries that would like to schedule shows in the future and have several fine art shows that I want to spend ad money on so my pricing for the new paintings isnt typically what the online buyers are willing to spend now)...again great way to get your feet wet when starting out.
